Panorama Mesdag

Description

I was asked by Lisa Droes, an illustrator, to make an interactive installation as an addition to her graduation project that was to be exhibited in Museum Panorama Mesdag in The Hague.
Her graduation project was based on Hendrik Willem Mesdag's famous Panorama. Lisa has interviewed children about their view of the future and created a panorama around it.

Together we designed and developed an interactive application that allows children to create digital drawings, which are then seamlessly integrated into a continuously moving panoramic scene displayed on a large screen. As the panorama scrolls, new contributions from visitors dynamically appear, creating an ever-evolving collaborative artwork.

To facilitate content moderation, I also built an admin panel for museum staff. This panel enables them to monitor submissions, remove inappropriate drawings if necessary, and ensure a smooth and engaging experience for all visitors.

The installation was such a success that the museum asked us to build a new application but this time with the original Mesdag theme to complement the museum. This application has been running for almost 5 years.
