Open Frameworks
Description
Utrecht School of the Arts
One of the first programmingg assignments I received during my studies, was to create a visual in Open Frameworks.
Open Frameworks is a C++ toolkit for creative coding.
In the same week I received this assignment, I was also introduced to the superformula during a lecture in a museum.
The superformula is a generalization of the superellipse and was proposed by Johan Gielis around 2000. Gielis suggested that the formula can be used to describe many complex shapes and curves that are found in nature.
I used this superformula to create a loop of psychedelic visualizations. On the left you can see some stills from the animation I created.
